Cupro fabric
Cupro is a biodegradable textile fiber. It is made from short cotton seed fibers, which cannot be processed into cotton yarn and would therefore end up in the waste. The Japanese company Asahi Kasei has developed a process to produce viscose-like knitwear from the waste product. While for a long time this was only possible with the environmentally harmful use of copper and ammonia, Asahi Kasei can now produce the fiber in a more environmentally friendly way and, among other things, has the Global Recycling Standard certificate. Our Italian supplier processes the fibers from Japan into a fabric that is characterized by a silky yet warm feel.
