Woven Cupro Fabric
Cupro is a biodegradable textile fiber. It is made from the short cottonseed fibers that cannot be processed into cotton yarn and would therefore end up as waste. For a long time, the production of cupro was prohibited because it requires copper and ammonia. However, the Japanese company Asahi Kasei has optimized the production of cupro to such an extent that the large quantities of water and chemicals remain in a closed loop until they are completely exhausted. The chemicals used are then free of toxic or hazardous compounds that pose a risk to health and the environment.

Our Turkish supplier weaves the fibers from Japan into a fabric that is characterized by a silky yet warm feel - it contains 100% cupro.
