Woven Cupro Fabric
Cupro is a biodegradable textile fiber. It is made from the short cotton seed fibers that cannot be processed into cotton yarn and would therefore end up as waste. For a long time, Cupro production was prohibited because it required copper and ammonia. However, the Japanese company Asahi Kasei has optimized Cupro production to such an extent that large quantities of water and chemicals remain in a closed loop until they are completely exhausted. The chemicals used are then free of toxic or hazardous compounds for health and the environment.
