About Ahimsa Silk:

The term "ahimsa" comes from Sanskrit and means "non-harm" and "compassion," and refers to an important virtue in Indian religions. Our silk is a natural product, and no harm was done to the silkworms during production. The cocoons are left to lie until the silkworm naturally emerges from its cocoon and begins its new life.

We work with a small producer in rural northern India who pays his workers fairly, practices organic silkworm farming, and offers training opportunities to his employees.
